#10 Quick hits! A brutalist side table, end of day sewer tile art, chrome highboy dresser, a freaky armoire and more....
Short, easy, and sweet.

Some quick news:
SCAM ALERT!!! Someone in NYC is listing Maralunga sofas, specifically near mint-condition leather ones on Craigslist for cheap. (A leather three-seat Maralunga can go for 8-10K, these people are selling them for 400-600$.) The weird thing about this scam is that most of the listings donāt mention Maralunga in the title at all and most of them donāt seem desperate for a ādepositāā¦.odd scam but when itās too good to be true itās really too good to be true. Iām still haunted by this sea foam green Maralunga Home Union sold a while ago, and the velvet ones are also incredibly beautiful.
Skilset is having a sale! Mostly half-off on plinths and stools which are a great low-commitment way to level up your home. (Plinths are surprisingly versatile pieces!) If you ever need some custom wood work in New York I highly recommend them ā they did a custom bookshelf for my living room and it looks great. For a small kitchen space Iām sure they could do a beautiful little breakfast nook with a Donald Judd kind of finish.
Whoever works at In Bed needs a raise! The company sells the typical homeware stuff but whoever is styling the bedding in particular is doing a great job. It seems after the MCM boom of short precise lines thereās a pendulum shift to oversized, skirted pieces or more modular sets. I love a long skirt!
EBAY/ ETSY QUICK SEARCHES
A nice vase to put on top of a plinth!
If you donāt have a serving tray Iād recommend getting one. Theyāre great for their literal purpose but Iāve found they add some nice texture to a bedroom or living room when youāre looking to display pieces. This bamboo one is beautiful but there are some old-school silver ones on eBay selling for cheap. I imagine Laila Gohar will release some soon.
Also a great plinth display is this wooden folk art figure ā nice piece with some good wood work. Not pictured but also wonderful is this sewer tile end of day work sculpture! (A lot of workers at the end of their shifts used the leftover materials in factories to craft their own works. A very cool piece of history to own!)
Thereās some solid patchwork quilts on eBay right now and most of them are sending offers for 10-20% off ā I have one similar to this and love it.
A beautiful heart-shaped shell to hang up on your wall. Iāve found pieces like this can break up the monotony of a gallery wall and add some depth.
If youāre looking for a new eBay search term thereās a lot of great mother of pearl brooches and serving utensils on eBay.
CRAIGSLIST AND FB MARKETPLACE FINDS
A pair of weird little wrought iron chairs that would be nice in a breakfast nook set up.
Beautiful brutalist side table!! I have something similar to this as a console table and adore it.
A freaky armoire if youāre looking to spice up your bedroom. Could look nice painted white or a more neutral color to balance out the wackiness!
Iām a little dubious of this listing and would recommend anyone stay away from anything claiming to be by Milo Baughman ā see this incredible tweet I still think about ā but this rosewood and chrome mid-century modern high boy dresser could be the real deal and a very good one at that.
Not pictured but if youāre in New Canaan thereās a FABULOUS bamboo room divider someone should snap up immediately
A very nice coffee table that would look nice in most rooms. This one is also nice with a built-in magazine rack.
